Omaha Creighton Prep skids past reigning champ Omaha North late
Football is back in Nebraska’s biggest city!
On Thursday night, the Omaha Creighton Prep Junior Jays paid a visit to Nile Kinnick Stadium to square off against the Omaha North Vikings, the defending Class A state champions.
Prep outlasted the Vikings 12-7 behind two field goals from kicker Noah Strako and a clutch touchdown run in the game's waning minutes from 6-1, 240-pound fullback Luke Sims.
6-1, 225-pound running back Zander Gray scored North’s lone touchdown on a 47-yard rush. Gray, 35-229 on the night, was the star of the Vikings offense.
1-0 Creighton Prep will face Omaha Central next Thursday; 0-1 Omaha North will play Omaha Northwest next Friday.
