Week 5: 2018 Class A football power rankings
We’re proud to present our week five Class A football power rankings, brought to you by PRIME Roofing:
10. Omaha Creighton Prep (4, 3-2)
The Junior Jays were defeated for the second time this season on Friday night, losing 37-2 against crosstown rival Omaha Westside.
9. Elkhorn South (10, 4-1)
The Storm left town for the first time this season and managed to up their record with a 62-14 win over Columbus.
8. Kearney (9, 4-1)
Kearney handled Omaha Benson with ease on Friday, coming away with a 64-0 shutout win.
7. Lincoln High (8, 3-2)
Lincoln’s oldest school has racked up three straight wins following a tough start to their season; their most recent is a 49-6 victory at Omaha Central.
6. Millard South (6, 4-1)
On homecoming weekend, the Patriots took down Omaha Northwest by a 48-7 score to bounce back from last week’s overtime loss against Millard West.
5. Millard West (5, 4-1)
The Wildcats, who have now won three straight games after falling to Omaha Burke in week two, defeated Omaha Bryan 45-3.
4. Omaha Westside (7, 5-0)
The Warriors took on longtime rival Omaha Creighton Prep at Omaha Benson, and they took the bus home with a 37-2 win under their belts.
3. Grand Island (3, 5-0)
Lincoln North Star trekked I-80 to battle the undefeated Islanders. Grand Island kept their season perfect with a 57-14 win.
2. Bellevue West (2, 5-0)
After Lincoln Pius X put up a fight in the first three quarters on Friday, the Thunderbirds scored 20 unanswered points to make it out with a 42-21 win.
1. Omaha Burke (1, 5-0)
The Bulldogs remain atop our top ten following a 52-7 win over Elkhorn.
