Week 7: 2018 Class A football power rankings
We’re proud to present our week seven Class A football power rankings, brought to you by PRIME Roofing:
10. Omaha North (NR, 4-3) Following their third loss of the season at the hands of top-ranked Omaha Burke, Larry Martin has led the Vikings to three straight wins. The most recent victory came over Lincoln Northeast, 49-3. 9. Lincoln Southwest (9, 6-1) The Silver Hawks have won five straight after a 17-15 victory over Kearney. 8. Omaha Creighton Prep (8, 5-2) Reid Burke and the Junior Jays have gotten back into their groove with a 60-13 win over Omaha Northwest. 7. Lincoln High (7, 5-2) After an 0-2 start to the season, the Links have legitimized themselves as a Class A contender with five straight wins. Their most recent victory came by a 56-14 score at Omaha Benson. 6. Millard South (6, 6-1) The Patriots continued their winning ways in week seven, leaving Columbus on Friday night with a 49-14 win under their belts. 5. Grand Island (3, 6-1) The Islanders suffered their first loss on Thursday night, a 30-24 double overtime deficit against then-fifth-ranked Millard West. 4. Omaha Westside (4, 7-0) Avante Dickerson and Co. continued to roll on Friday night when they took down then-tenth-ranked Elkhorn South, 35-21. 3. Millard West (5, 6-1) The Wildcats played host to a top five matchup when Grand Island rolled into Buell Stadium. They celebrated a happy homecoming with a 30-24 double overtime victory.
2. Bellevue West (2, 7-0) The Thunderbirds continued their high-powered, winning ways — showing no signs of slowing down — in a 55-0 rout over Omaha South. 1. Omaha Burke (1, 7-0) Paul Limongi’s squad stayed on a winning path with a 42-7 victory over Fremont on Thursday night.
